Lime Level Privacy Policy
In short: Lime Level does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it doesn't connect to the internet. The only thing it saves is your calibration, and that stays on your phone.
This policy explains how Lime Level (the "app"), an Android bubble level made by Cactus Oasis Labs ("we", "us"), handles information. It applies to Lime Level only.
Information we collect
None. Lime Level does not collect, transmit or sell any personal information. We don't receive any data from the app, and we have no servers that the app talks to.
The app has no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting services, and no third-party tracking code.
What stays on your device
- Sensor readings. To show the level and the compass, the app reads your phone's accelerometer and magnetometer (motion and magnetic field sensors). These readings are processed in memory, on your phone, while the level or compass screen is showing. They are never saved or sent anywhere. The sensors are switched off when that screen isn't in view.
- Calibration. When you tap calibrate, the app saves the calibration offsets (a few angle numbers for flat mode and edge mode) in the app's private storage on your phone, so the level stays calibrated next time you open it. This contains no personal information.
If you have Android's device backup turned on, Android may include the app's storage (and so the calibration offsets) in your backup. That backup is made by Android and stored in your own Google account under Google's terms; we can't access it.
Permissions
Lime Level asks for no permissions at runtime; you won't see any permission prompts. Its Android package declares these install-time permissions:

The motion and magnetic sensors don't need a permission on Android. Keeping the screen awake while the app is open (so it doesn't go dark mid-measurement) doesn't need one either. The app does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files or physical activity, and blocks the related permissions that its libraries would otherwise add.
Third parties
Lime Level doesn't share data with anyone, because it has none to share. It is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information when you download or update apps from Google Play; that is covered by Google's Privacy Policy, not this one.
Children
Lime Level is a general-audience tool and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Deleting your data
The only data the app keeps is the calibration on your phone. To remove it, use Reset calibration in the app, clear the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall the app.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the effective date above before that version is released.
